Access Any Desktop Remotely with Chrome Browser

Assessing remote desktop helps you to support your clients remotely, for teamwork, presentations, sales talks or access all your computers and servers remotely around the clock. There are many way to connect remotely with 3rd party software available in the market but some of them are paid and need to install into your computer. Some non techie guys don’t know how to install software but Google Chrome browser will help you to connect desktop remotely.

Chrome Remote Desktop BETA extension allows you to remotely access another computer through your Google Chrome browser. You can use Chrome Remote Desktop BETA app to invite someone to get access to your computer remotely or can take control of another computer through Google Chrome Browser. Chrome Remote Desktop BETA is fully cross-platform and can connect any two computers that have a Chrome browser, including Windows, Linux, Mac and Chromebooks.

To use the Chrome Remote Desktop BETA app you must need Google Chrome browser. To get this app visit the Chrome Remote Desktop app page in the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome to install the app. It will take some time to download as it’s size is 19.1 MB, after downloading when the confirmation dialog appears, click Install. Once the app has been installed, a new tab will open and the app’s icon will appear in the Apps section of the page.

If you want to share your computer with your friend, open a new tab in Google Chrome and click on the remote desktop app icon in the Apps section to open the Chrome Remote Desktop app. Now click Share this computer button and a unique access code will be generated as shown in the below image for each sharing session. Send this code to the person you’d like to share your computer with.

And if you want to get access of the your friend’s computer, get a unique access code generated by him and enter that code as shown in the below image and hit on connect button and you will get all control of your friend’s computer.

Chrome Remote Desktop BETA is very useful when you need help solving a computer problem, but the person you’d like to get help from isn’t physically nearby. Conversely, if a friend has asked you for help with his or her computer, you can use the Chrome Remote Desktop BETA app to see and interact with your friend’s computer without having to leave your desk. Additional functionality, such as the ability to remotely access one of your own computers, will be coming in a future update. You will get more help and future updates from here.

  • Oh this release is a nice surprise to me! That’s a great thing that Google Chrome remote desktop works cross platforms but it functions only in Google Chrome browser. And my clients will have to to download a 19 mb file to work with it. Will keep working with Techinline remote desktop and wait for Google’s remote software full release.
