Facebook Messenger Desktop Client for Windows 7 is Official

Facebook launched Messenger for mobile in the month of August 2011 and now launched Messenger for Windows 7 to compete other desktop clients like GTalk, Yahoo messenger etc. Facebook has messenger apps for smartphones, chatting and video calling via web but missing desktop client and Facebook launched Messenger for Windows 7. Still Facebook not announce on their blog but they have posted about messenger for Windows 7 in Facebook help center and testing out a first version of the app with a small group of people.

Facebook messenger for Windows application that lets you use Facebook without being on www.facebook.com. You can chat and message with your friends on Facebook, see the latest updates from your friends in ticker, get quick notifications about what’s going on but clicking on these items will take you to a web browser. Facebook Messenger desktop client now doesn’t support video or voice calling though these features will have to be added in next update if Facebook wants to stay competitive in the desktop messenger war.
